Inclusion

Principles of Inclusion

The Compass Eko Trust principles of inclusion and inclusivity underpin all that we do. These are the non-negotiables that anchor our approach to pedagogy and school development. All schools in the Trust demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to these principles. We see our schools as important agents for community exchange and cohesion and are committed to maintaining locally agreed admissions criteria. We also work within locally agreed admissions procedures for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

We are proud to be an inclusive trust and are committed to learning for all. We utilise the expertise that sits in our all-through SEMH and special schools (Horizon, Pathways, Willow Dene and Rowan Wood), to further support the knowledge and skills of staff across all our schools, ensuring we are able to provide the best educational experience for all children and young people. We work in close partnership with the local authorities in which we are situated.

Our schools understand the importance of partnership working with parents and carers. We know that parents are the experts in their children and actively seek to gather their voice. As part of this, we have an active trust SEND parents’ forum who work strategically with trust leaders offering input on key aspects of policy and practice, offering a unique insight into parental experiences.
